Troubleshoot
Arclab® Web Form Builder
The following section provides solutions to the most common problems.
error_outline The Form is not shown
- You cannot open the php file on your local computer, because php is a scripting language, executed on the server.
- If the form is not displayed, please first check whether the form has been uploaded to the website.
- To do this, open the uploaded form file (#FORMURL#)
directly in your browser.
e.g. https://www.yourdomain.tld/#FORMFILE# - If you get a 404 "Page not found" error message when opening the form in your browser, the file was either not uploaded at all or was uploaded to a different folder. If you use a CMS system, we recommend uploading the form file to the root folder.
- If the php source code is displayed instead of the form, php is not activated. php scripts have to be activated on the server to be able to execute forms. In this case, contact your web administrator or hosting provider to activate php.
- If the form is displayed correctly when you open it directly, but not when you have integrated it into the host page, the code within the host page is incorrect. Please check the path or the file name of the form file in the code.
- If you use a CMS system like Wordpress, Joomla, Typo3 or Drupal,
make sure that you are logged in as "Administrator".
Restricted users are not allowed to insert custom code/scripts, so they can not insert the form.
error_outline After Submitting the Form, the "Error Page" is shown
- The "Error Code" shown in the page contains information about the type of error and which task triggered the error.
- Click here for a list of all error codes
error_outline After Submitting the Form, the "Success Page" is shown but I do not receive the Email
- First check whether the message has been deleted by a spam filter or moved to the "Spam" folder.
- In the next step, check whether the email address of the recipient
and the sender are correct.
Please note that the email address of the sender should match the domain of the web server or the email account used. - In rare cases it can happen that when using the internal send function "php mail" the success page is displayed although the email cannot be sent due to a faulty php configuration on the web server. Contact your web administrator about this problem or send the message via an email account (SMTP server) instead. In this case, proceed in the same way as for Error Code: E100. error_outline The Email is broken or the Email Source Code is shown
- When sending the email directly via the website, there may be problems with the email due to various server installations.
- This can have the effect that instead of the email, the source text is displayed or an unreadable attachment is added.

error_outline You are using an <iframe> and the Form is not shown within the iframe
- First, make sure that the form is shown when you open it directly. See also: "The Form is not shown"
- A website can be configured so that iframes are completely forbidden (DENY) or only allowed if the form is on the same domain (SAMEORIGIN). This is to prevent the content of your website from being displayed within a third-party website.
- If an iframe is only allowed if the host page and the form are on the same website or domain, the form may not be shown in the preview of your editor. Simply upload the host page and the form file to your website and it should work fine.
- If the use of iframes on your website is completely prohibited, you can e.g. create a new directory for which these restrictions do not apply and upload the form (php) file to this directory. You can achieve this relatively easily by relaxing the restrictions in an additional ".htaccess" (Apache) file in the new directory. Having a separate directory with relaxed restrictions has the great advantage that the rest of your website is not affected. Please contact your web administrator if you cannot make the required settings yourself.
- Of course, you can also integrate the form directly into a web page without using an iframe.
